Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu is a man in trouble right now but just like any other real man out there, he has refused to go down without putting in a fight.
Just a day after being exposed for massive plunder of public funds in Kiambu, the Governor has hit back claiming that his sermon to the senate was all motivated Politically by people out to settle political scores with him.
Waititu has blamed his recent growing relationship with DP William Ruto for his current woes.
While stating that together with his County they support the current war on corruption, Waititu was also quick to note that the war will not be won by intimidation of leaders who support Deputy President William Ruto.
The Governor has claimed that the recent arrests related to corruption are all political with the 2022 Presidential race in the mind of many Kenyans.
He has also asked that anyone with evidence that money has been lost in Kiambu should lodge a formal complaint with the DCI on the same.
Thursday saw governor Waititu get a hard time explaining the bizzare expenditures recorded by his County Government.
According to a report tabled to Senate by Auditor General Edward Ouko, Kiambu County allegedly spent 58M on the South Sudan peace process, 900M on coordination of State House functions, 180M on benefits for retired presidents, 578M -state corporations advisory services and 793M -free education.
Waititu revelead that he was also surprised by the expenditures that were being read out to him by the Senate committee.
