‘Kiboko changu’ hitmaker Cecilia Wairimu alias Amani has opened up on what drove her to salvation.

Amani last year took to her social media to announce that she has turned a new leaf but this time around with Jesus.

She is well known for her secular songs that made rounds in early 2000 and was the household hits in local radio stations.

Her single with Nameless in 2002 dubbed Ninanoki is one of the biggest hits she ever produced.

She came back to the limelight in 2010 after a long break but 8 years down the line she changed her motive.

Speaking on Mambo Mseto, she revealed how she contemplated on getting saved year in year out.

But luckily last year she made her final choice to turn to Christ.

She revealed that it was her choice that if she gets saved she will o longer sing secular songs.

She is married off to Nigerian boyfriend Chinasa Udeala who is currently working in Kenya.

Kuokoka kulihussha kazi yangu. Ikawa ni decison inanisumbua kwa muda mrefu lakini siku moja nikaamua kuokoka.

Amani is now doing gospel music and she released her single last week dubbed ‘Upendo’.

She also added that her husband is not saved but she cannot nag him into salvation.

When asked about her friends, she confirmed that she lost some because she could not continue with her former lifestyle.
