Fred Omondi: Churchill helped me do different comedy from my brother

Eric Omondi’s younger brother has revealed how Mwalimu Churchill changed his career.

Fred Omondi was speaking with Jeff Koinange on Hot 96 and he shared his life story before making it comic industry.

Fred Omondi opened up on how his family was a comedy family and that it was one of the reason they are all funny.

His elder brother Eric Omondi was the first one to make it in the comic industry on Churchill show.

He, however, came into the industry independently without associating himself with his elder brother.

Fred Omondi came into the limelight after he performed in Rugby sports in Kisumu.

He moved the crowd and he was a sought after celebrity who got local endorsements.

After relocating to Nairobi, Churchill realised his talent and helped him focus on a different angle of comedy fused with music.

This has identified him differently and people got to know him independently.

H revealed how no one knew that he was Eric Omondi’s younger brother until recently.

He has now focused on parody music that has seen him grow. His recent and controversial parody was with Hallelujah originally written by Willy Paul and Nandy.

The video was pulled down from Youtube after Willy Paul felt threatened by his parody version which was more of Gospel than his secular one.

Fred Omondi also added that they are working on something with his brother dubbed The Omondis.
