Tanasha Donna Oketch is reinventing herself as more than just a gorgeous face with a voluptuous body!
Indeed, the radio personality’s new music video has shown that she is culturally aware of the country that she lives in.
But before we continue along, we’ve got to splash a big, fat, SPOILER ALERT. Watch the video below before we spoil it for you!
If you’ve watched the video now, what is it that you noticed that’s so unique about this piece of art?
It’s the LOCATIONS she’s chosen.
For starters, the video kicks off in a slum-like environment, where two young men are listening keenly to the radio, hosted by NRG radio’s own talent.
This paints the conclusive reality of how NRG has received a tremendous following from the youth; in particular, late teens who are at the verge of self-actualization and discovery!
Secondly, the scenery behind these young guys closely resembles a slum like environment. We’re not sure where this is in particular, but it can be anywhere from Dagoretti, Kayole, Kibera e.t.c.
What this means is that Tanasha together with her team have paid tribute to the lower-class Kenyans; whose main form of entertainment is the radio. And a majority of their followers would be young Kenyans fresh from high school.
The location then switches to a fancy club-like/ house party where the kids of the bourgeoisie and the upper-echelon of society are having a good time, bumping their heads to the beat as Barak Jacuzzi spits some killer flows.
Here, we strongly believe that Tanasha and her team are acknowledging the more privileged in society, and showcasing how they have exhilarating fan when they are having a splendid time!
It’s the fusion of these two opposing facets of society into one song that makes ‘Radio’ a forthcoming Kenyan classic.
Last but not least, the visuals are simply sublime. Specifically the cultural wear representing the famous ‘Odi’ culture that the youth have come so much to love and embrace!
Kudos to the director, Ivan Odie, for producing a masterpiece in the shape and structure of such an excellent music video!
