A high profiled legislature in Kisii has ruined his name and title for failing to hold his appetite for ladies.
A member of the Kisii County Assembly Evans Mokoro has been charged with defilement by an Ogembo Law Court.
The second term MCA and former Deputy Speaker at the Kisii Assembly was charged with two counts; defilement and indecent act.
In one account, the accused was charged with defiling a minor aged 16 years contrary to section 8(1)(14) of the sexual offences Act number 3 of 2006.
The accused is said to have committed the offence on diverse dates between June 2016 and September 2017 in Nyamarambe area, Gucha South.
The accused was also charged with an alternative charge of indecent act with the said minor contrary to section 11(1) of the sexual offences Act number 3 of 2006.
Mokoro pleaded not guilty to the two counts.The presiding Senior Principal Magistrate Denis Mikoyan released the accused on Sh200,000 bond and a surety of similar amount or a cash bail of Sh50,000.
Parties will appear before court on May 16, 2019 for preliminary issues and determining of a substantive application on whether the accused will proceed for DNA examination.
