Nyeri county was filled with ululations and celebrations as 33 excited couples lined up to make vows in a memorable mass wedding ceremony on Saturday, April 27. ‘Till death do us part’ was each of their promise to their lovers in the presence of hundreds of witnesses.
The event which took place at Our Lady of Consolata Church Giakaibei Parish, Nyeri county saw the 66 lovebirds enjoy one of the best days of their lives in the presence of their loved ones.
Going by lovely photos shared by Mathira Constituency member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua, the occasion which bonded 33 couples was one you did not want to miss. Each of the brides stepped out in eye-catching, pearly white wedding dresses with their hair perfectly styled and faces glowing with joy.
Their smartly dressed grooms looked dapper in captivating suits as their faces lit up when they spotted the women they were about to spend the rest of their lives with. A massive crowd braved the blazing sun as family and friends keenly paid attention to every second of the memorable wedding.
Both young and old couples got a chance to profess their love to each other and promise to spend eternity together. “It was a great day of celebration as my wife Pastor Dorcas and I joined 33 couples being joined in holy matrimony as others renewed their marriage vows,” Gachagua reminisced. The wedding was presided over by Archbishop Anthony Muheria who made sure each of the couples vowed to be bonded for life.
Ululation, dance and song were the highlights of the day as each guest struggled to bust a move right after the ceremony was completed. Some even proceeded to flashy receptions where the celebrations officially begun.
