Man Utd striker, Lukaku lays bare his doubts of stay at the club as Inter eye him

Romelu Lukaku’s form is now putting him in the mouths of fans and football pundits, his failure to work it out as the front man in the United squad is once again in question which is putting his future in the club in question.

He has not scored in the recent matches that the club has played thus fuelling is future doubt on whether he can be relied on, even himself is doubtful of the same as few clubs would want him in case he’s freed my ManchesterUnited.

Romelu Lukaku says he doesn’t know where his future lies as Inter Milan continue to keep an eye on the Manchester United forward.

The Belgian started Sunday’s 1-1 draw against his former club Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday but faced criticism for his fitness levels after the match from Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Alex Scott.

Lukaku was watched by Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio in United’s 1-0 defeat to Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final defeat earlier this month, and he is being eyed up for a possible switch to the Serie A side as a replacement for Mauro Icardi having lost his automatic start status under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

When asked about his future after the Chelsea game he said: “Me? I don’t know, I’m not here to entertain rumours. I’m still under contract.”

While Neville and Scott praised Lukaku’s display against Chelsea, they couldn’t help but focus on his fitness issues.

“Look at him on the edge of the box now he’s knackered! Hands on the hips,” said Neville over footage of Lukaku’s display.

“You watch him for 25 minutes today and he looks like a world beater. Then you see him make one big run and he looks absolutely shot.

“He was a brilliant performer today, then you say to yourself he always looks tired after one or two big runs. He’s a big decision. I’ve got very little sympathy for anyone who’s unfit as a professional footballer.

“Football players should know their bodies inside out, you know when you can eat, when you should relax, the portion sizes. I am not sure how he hasn’t corrected this problem. It is not a reflection on the sports science department at the club, something isn’t right.”

“I don’t see how we can sit here and make excuses for him. That comes from the player,” added Scott.

“He knows he is unfit. How is he allowed to get away from that as a professional footballer? By his teammates as well.

“As a professional footballer, you have to ask what he is doing away from the training ground and with his lifestyle.”
