In a rather mysterious manner, a man spying for his country in a foreign land was arrested and detained in Prison.
While in Prison, where there are usually little access to items that one could use to commit suicide, the country’s state media reported that the spy had committed suicide, sparking an international uproar.
The UAE spy was in Turkey to finish the Arab-country’s spying mission when he was arrested by Turkish officials.
According to Reuters, one of the UAE spies had arrived in Turkey in October, 2018, just days after Saudi Arabia journalist, Jamal Khashoggi was killed in Istanbul, inside the kingdom consulate.
Khashoggi was a known critic of Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman.
His death sparked an international outrage as International crime investigators scrambled to piece up the evidence relating to his death.
One of his suspected killers was seen from a CCTV footage to be wearing Khashoggi’s clothing just moments after he was killed.
The death of the UAE spies is expected to cause a major diplomatic turf pitting Turkey and UAE.
