President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday left the Country for China alongside his opposition Counterpart Raila Odinga.

Kenyans among them political leaders have speculated the duo’s trip, with some now bringing in 2022 speculations.

Last year, President Kenyatta told off those who had launched early Succession politics, saying that his choice for 2022 will shock many. Could Raila be his shocker?

A NASA legislator, the Uriri Member of Parliament  Mark Nyamita says that President Kenyatta has chosen ODM party leader, Raila Odinga, as his successor once his final term comes to an end in 2022.

Speaking at a funeral in his constituency over the weekend, Mr Nyamita claimed that President Uhuru had taken Raila with him to China to re-assure Kenya’s biggest lenders that the next President (Raila Odinga), was fully committed to repaying the loans.

“The two leaders went to China not just to secure loans but to also assure our brothers in China that come transition period, there would be a safe pair of hands to pay back the whole debt,” he remarked.

He added that the trip was proof that Uhuru and Raila had ironed out succession plans that would see the ODM party leader ascend to the highest office in the land.

Mr Nyamita went on to criticise leaders affiliated to Deputy President (DP) William Ruto for allegedly trying to block development projects in Western Kenya such as the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) extension to Kisumu that has recently stalled.

“We, as a region, have been left out in the cold despite the fact that our taxes are still being used to cover these loans meant for national development,” the MP divulged.

What do you think about the legislator’s speculations and claims? Do you think Raila is Uhuru’s 2022 choice?
