Chemelil Sugar’s impressive home form was ended by Nzoia Sugar when they were beaten 2-1 on Saturday.

The home team came into this match knowing that a win would send them above Nzoia at the table but the early indications were a clear sign that they were just not up for the task. Nzoia completely dominated the match and hit the post. Chemelil were lucky to head into the break on level terms.

The visitors came into the break guns blazing and went ahead just five minutes from the restart following a attacking move. The home side’s woes were compounded when one of their players received a straight yellow card for violent conduct in the 61st minute.

Nzoia added a second in the 74th minute to put the game beyond Chemelil’s reach and end their five-match home unbeaten run. The home side pulled one back in added time but it was too little too late. The wins moves Nzoia Sugar to 10th on the log with 32 points while Chemelil remains 13th with 28 points.
