Chelsea midfielder N’kolo Kante is doubtful for the all-important English Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday at the Old Trafford.
Kante was substituted at halftime on Monday night during the team’s 2-2 draw at home to Burnley after suffering a rib injury.
The injury was not thought to be serious at first, but the French international has failed to fully recover in time, with manager Maurizio Sarri having to wait for long.
“We are trying to recover Kante, but I am not sure at the moment,” he said on his brief ahead of the match.
Chelsea lies fourth on the English Premier League table with 67 points, but will surrender the spot if they lose on Sunday.
Manchester will look to bounce back after a disappointing loss at home to rivals Manchester City, knowing another defeat will hugely dent their hopes of finishing in the top-four bracket.
