2 Key Reasons Why West Ham May Be a Huge Mountain For Tottenham To Climb

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino

Football pundit Jamie Redknap has hailed Tottenham’s current form and classical display but have cautioned them over laxity when they meet West Ham on Saturday.

West Ham have little to brag of but just a little pride of play.

Tottenham, on the other hand, knows clearly the streak that differentiates them with the other three contenders of the top-four position- Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

A win for Poch’s boys will mean a lot for their next season Champions League qualification. But there are few factors that must be considered for their Saturday match with West Ham.

The Hammers have shown quite a noticeable improvement albeit a lose to Manchester United and Leicester City.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side knows that they might be the first team to score Tottenham at their new home. This will give them a lot of cheers and make them approach the game with a lot of confidence.

First reason

Historically, West Ham were the last team to beat Arsenal at their beloved Highbury stadium and again the first to beat them at Emirates stadium.

Second Reason

Tottenham will be approaching the match with Ajax in their minds three days after meeting West Ham and they need to win in both matches.

For that reason, Jamie Redknap fires caution to Tottenham ahead of their clash with West Ham.

“I’ve said it before the West Ham game is such an important one,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports after Tottenham’s last gasp win over Brighton on Tuesday night.

“Because it’s a derby game, I’ve played in it, and it means so much to the Spurs fans.

“But West Ham have come to Spurs, to White Hart Lane and to Wembley, and had good results previously so it won’t be an easy one.

“And the Spurs players subconsciously will have their mind on the Champions League so that’s important for them.”

West Ham will be facing Spurs very confident with the return of their three key players; Javier Hernandez, Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez.
