The Moi family makes one Humble Request to Kenyans

News broke on Saturday that Jonathan Moi, the eldest son of former President Daniel Moi , had passed away.

JT, as he was fondly called by friends and family succumbed to cancer related complications on Friday.

The Moi family has asked Kenyans to respect their privacy as they come to terms with the demise of their beloved brother.

 “The family wants Kenyans to respect the family’s privacy during the mourning period of Jonathan.” Moi’s Press Secretary told a local daily.

Gideon Moi, the younger brother of the deceased. also sent a statement to newsrooms saying they will continue to inform Kenyans about further developments on a need to know basis.

” We are distraught as a family and we ask for your prayers and seek your understanding and indulgence to allow us to mourn privately. “

Meanwhile, President Uhuru Kenyatta has described JT as a humble, kind, generous and courageous person.

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior said Jonathan will be remembered for his heroics as a rally driver.

“Jonathan was one of the best and avid rally drivers this country has ever had. May his soul Rest In Peace.” Sports CS Amina Mohammed said on Twitter.
