Anti-FGM Activist Parit, Four Others Cheat Death In Road Accident

Kajiado’s anti-FGM activist, Dorcus Parit and four other people are recuperating in Loitokitok hospital after a road accident on Wednesday night.

Parit was returning to her base in Kimana town in Kajiado South Sub County from a rescue mission of an 11-year-old girl, who had been married of to a 50-year-old man in Emarti area of Kajiado East Sub County when they were involved in the accident at 10 pm.

The accident occurred on the new Kajiado-Mashuuru-Duka Moja road at Emukutan area where her Toyota Prado car hit an antelope before her driver, Jackson Kioko, lost control of the vehicle.

Parit, while speaking on the phone from her hospital bed, on Thursday morning said the vehicle swerved off the road and rolled five times into the bushes in Emukutan.

She said they were rescued and taken to hospital in Loitokitok by former Imbirrikani MCA Sayianka ole Kosei, who arrived at the accident scene immediately they had veered off the road and rolled.

“I am grateful to God for saving our lives, including that of a minor I had gone to rescue from an early childhood marriage to a man old enough to be her grandfather. The five of us are at Loitokitok hospital,” said Parit.
