Top four or Europa? Arsenal ace reveals what he prefers

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has said that finishing in the top four is more important than going for the UEFA Europa League title.

Xhaka gave his views right after Arsenal’s 1-0 Premier League win over Watford that placed the Gunners back to fourth spot last night.

“I think we want to stay in the top four — we want to be back in the Champions League,” said the Swiss to the Standard.

Arsenal take a 2-0 lead to Italy Napoli in Thursday’s UEFA Europa League second leg quarter-final. Xhaka, still says the league takes precedence.

“For me, the Premier League is first and after if you can go to the final and take the Europa League, of course, it is nice as well, but for us, it is the Premier League first.

“We are now in fourth place — two points over [Manchester] United, one game less than Chelsea and one point behind Tottenham — and they play against Manchester City this weekend. This can be a big weekend for us,” concluded the 26-year-old £30m signing
