With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer determined to strengthen his squad in the next window, Manchester United have reportedly identified a new attacking target for the 2019/20 campaign.
According to the Daily Mail, United are interested in signing Lyon forward Moussa Dembele following the impressive season he has had.
Arsenal are also believed to be after the 22-year-old, although it has also been claimed the Gunners might struggle to afford him.
Dembele left Paris Saint-Germain’s youth set-up as a teenager to join Fulham in 2012, and broke into the London club’s first team two years later. The Frenchman spent two years as Fulham’s No. 9 before signing for Celtic in Scotland, and then moved back to France last year.
The striker therefore has Premier League and British football experience, perhaps something Solskjaer and staff will have taken into consideration. Dembele has played 40 games for Lyon so far this season, scoring 17 goals and assisting a further six strikes.
Manchester United and Arsenal are set to go head-to-head to sign Ajax star David Neres this summer. The £45million-rated Brazilian cap has caught the eye of football’s elite clubs following stellar performances in the Champions League this season, scoring against both Real Madrid and Juventus.
Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund were already reportedly interested in signing the Ajax winger, and according to the Sun, Neres will be the subject of a transfer battle between two of England’s biggest clubs when the transfer window opens in July
