The County Government of Nyeri has partnered with benefactors from Minnesota- The United States of America for the construction of a maternity wing.
The USA team led by Gregory Elsher and Robert Smith met the governor for other future partnerships at Mugunda Clinic in Kieni West sub-county.
“The team has been overseeing construction at the clinic and is currently doing roofing at the facility,” he said.
Kahiga said the project is expected to be completed by June this year and will, later on, the county government will help to equip.
“It is important to note that this is a community driven project which also involved women from the community in construction work,” he said.
The County Government of Nyeri also promised to equip the clinic by providing medicine, clinical officers, nurses and a lab technician. This will be a major boost, as it will increase access to emergency obstetric and neonatal services.
