Celebrities bash Ezekiel Mutua for ‘killing’ talents

Celebrities have poured their two cents on the ban of the local hit takataka.

The Takataka hit that took over media platforms late last year was banned on Tuesday by Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB).

KFCB boss Ezekiel Mutua said that the lyrics on the song are primitive and incites men to ‘hurt women if they are rejected.

The artiste, Alvindo received the news when he was just about to release its official video.

The rise of street anthems like Lamba lolo and other club bangers have been one way the youths get job opportunities using their talents.

The big questions from Netizens were, “why ban the song three months later”?

Boychild president Cyprian Nyakundi in a sarcastic way thanked Ezekiel Mutua for making Alvindo famous.

But why ban it after Kenyans had already consumed?

The recent ugly deaths of women hacked by men because of love circles was speculated to have caused the ban.

From Alvindo’s lyrics, he curses a lady, who he named her Natasha, for rejecting him.

After pouring his heart and calling her Takataka, KFCB boss termed it as violent and induces “hard feelings”

Musician Antoneo Soul called it ‘killing talents’ instead of encouraging them in a good way.

The song Takataka doesn’t push any one man to kill another, our values and lack there of do

Ezekiel Mutua is yet to yank the song from Youtube.

Alvindo’s manager KRG the Don, however, has remain adamant and promised to release the video in a weeks time.

Is the moral police killing talents?
