Ajax’s Daley Blind & De Ligt On UCL Semi Finals Preferred Opponents

Ajax started the Champions League in the qualifiers.

After a 2-1 win in Turin over Juventus, Ajax are now in the quarterfinals of world football’s premier club competition.

Ajax, who had already dispatched Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the Champions League, have now knocked out Juventus.

And the Dutch side won the hard way after Cristiano Ronaldo had put Juve in front with a header.

Donny van de Beek drew Ajax level in the 34th minute, before club captain Matthijs de Ligt scored the 67th minute winner in the Allianz Arena.

Man City vs Tottenham
Ajax know that they’ll either face Tottenham or Man City in the final four.

Spurs head to the Etihad Stadium tonight with a 1-nil lead from the first leg.

Son Heung-min scored the winner for Tottenham last week.

Of course, Harry Kane will continue to be missing for Tottenham after his ankle ligament injury sustained against City.

Daley Blind & Matthijs de Ligt quizzed
After the win in Juventus, Jan Aage Fjortoft spoke to Daley Blind and Matthijs de Ligt.

During his interviews, Fjortoft tried to press the Ajax stars about who they want in the next round: Spurs or City.

When it came to Blind, Fjortoft noted that Man United are out the competition while Ajax are through.

However Blind wasn’t too interested in talking about United, or Man City for that matter, as he said he didn’t mind who Ajax get in the semifinals.

De Ligt also echoed Blind’s comments.

The confident centre-half also claimed he has no preference which team Ajax face next.
