Are the recent killings associated with relationships a sign that the Kenyan youth are not well prepared for relationships?

In a span of just a week, two terrible attacks have shocked the country with many arguing that the moral fabric has just faded for good.

First is Naftali Kinuthia who hacked Moi University student Ivy Wangeci ti death in the presence of several witnesses.

Kinuthia pulled a axe out of a sack, hit the deceased on the head before taking pulling out a knife and slitting her throat in one of the most horrifying incidents involving love affairs gone sour.

Naftali and Ivy schooled together at Joyland Academy in Gatanga Murang’a before the girl was transferred to another primary school in Thika town.

The came Nicholas Koech who allegedly stabbed his baby-mother Ms Naomi Chepkemoi, a third-year student at Pwani University, in her house at Mkwajuni village on the outskirts of Kilifi town.

Earlier, Mr Koech had blamed Ms Chepkemoi’s father for denying him his right to take care of his one-and-a-half year old baby, whom he sired with the victim.

Mr Koech, who seemed remorseful, told journalists that he acted out of love for his ‘wife’ and daughter.

“Naomi is my wife and I love her very much. We started dating back in 2016 while she was a first year,” he said.
