Ezekiel Mutua on Tuesday announced that KFCB has banned the hit song TakaTaka by Alvin aka Alvindo. The song featuring a man hauling insults to a woman after proposal turned down has been termed as obscene with lyrics degrading a woman, and promoting gender violence.

The Kenya Film Classification Board has made a decision to restrict the song ‘Takataka’ by Alvin aka Alvindo. The song produced by @FastCashMusicKe is restricted due to its obscene and degrading lyrics that advocate for violence against women by equating them to trash . Ezekiel Mutua’s Tweet Read

Its a major blow for Alvindo since the song was a major trend with Over 1 Million views on Youtube. Also, it was Alvindo’s first release in his music career.

Despite the song having obscene content and promoting gender violence, Ezekiel Mutua has gone ahead to reveal that the song was illegally produced, and it was not submitted to KFCB for approval. Taking to his Twitter account, the KFCB boss stated that:


The song ‘Takataka’ was not submitted to @InfoKfcb for examination and classification and contravenes Section 12 (2) of the Films and Stage Plays Act CAP 222. Broadcasting, exhibition, distribution (including online) or possession of this song is, therefore, a criminal offense.
