As insecurity continues to cause turmoil in Kenya, another headache has risen to scratch the heads of officers already in heavy search for Cuban doctors kidnapped in Mandera.
A congregation of an Anglican Church based in Embu has been unsettled for over two weeks following the disappearance of their faithful priest. They now believed he was kidnapped
Rev Stanley Kivuti, 34, mysteriously went missing after he left his home on April 4, 2019, for a church event in Kirinyaga County.
The man of the cloth, whose disappearance has now raised fears that he may have been kidnapped, had informed his wife that he would attend the event and return home after three days, but that did not happen.
After his failed return, his wife, Catherine Marigu tried to call his phone on the fourth day but his cell phone was switched off.
Consequently, she opted to report the matter at Manyatta Police Station.
Speaking on the report, senior police officer, Godfrey Kere established that indeed the family reported the matter and investigations are underway.
βIt is true we have received a report on a missing person and we have started investigations,β officer Kere asserted.
It is believed that the priest could have been ambushed and kidnapped on his way to the event in Kirinyaga over unclear reasons.
His wife, Catherine Marigu, said her husband left for Shunem Christian Retreat Centre in Kirinyaga and promised to be back after three days.
