Uhuru has high chances of being in power after 2022, Koigi Wamwere

Former Subukia Member of Parliament Koigi Wamwere now thinks President Kenyatta may not leave power despite him finishing his 2-year term as per the constituency.

According to the EX-MP the coming together of Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta through the handshake may be destabilising DP Ruto’s quarters.

While speaking in an interview he said, “I think there are lots of arrangements secretly going on between the two and I really doubt that Uhuru will leave power after 2022.”

He cautioned Kenyans against casting aspersions, noting that more could be going on between the two which might shock them in due time.

Wamwere said that Uhuru would be justified to do the same even after earlier confirming that he will be willing to leave power and retire once a new leader comes in.

He termed it the Democratic right of every qualified person to seek a political seat, adding  its very normal for politicians to fight to remain in power.

However, he stressed on the need for the political class to observe democracy, failure to which initial problems might reoccur.

His remarks relates to those of DP Ruto’s allies who think that ODM Leader Raila Odinga is a pest who came to ruin the relationship between DP Ruto and President Kenyatta
