Did Gor Mahia stage manage their troubles at the Airport for Kenyans to have pity?

Pictures of Gor Mahia sleeping on the floor at Doha International Airport have gone viral on social media ahead of their game. The players, who were en route to Morocco to face RS Berkane in their CAF Confederations Cup quarter-finals return leg resorted to sleeping on the airport floor as the awaited their flight to Morroco.

According to reports, the Kenyan team were forced to spend the night in the airport after failing to secure a hotel.

β€œThe players were forced to sleep on the airport floor because the club did not have funds to pay for their accommodation,” said a player who sought anonymity.

Gor Mahia player had earlier been forced to return for training on Thursday after Qatar Airlines denied they had travel bookings already reserved for them.

However separate reports indicate they stage manage the whole thing to protest financial constraints at the club.
