A couple reported to have been embroiled in multiple accounts of domestic violence has this time gone way too far as the wife in the union has now been admitted in critical condition.
30-year-old Peninah Wangechi has been hospitalised at the Karatina Sub County hospital where doctors have put her on a life saving treatment. This is after her husband allegedly stabbed her 17 times amid a domestic quarrel.
Wangechi personally admitted that her marriage has severally involved accounts of domestic violence. from her husband Samuel Ndirangu.
Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Benson Ngari said that she had bled a lot by the time going to hospital.
The knife wounds were fortunately not as deep, Dr Ngari said, adding that Peninah is recovering.
The suspect was surrendered to police and has been remanded at the Karatina Police station for five days as authorities investigate the matter.
