Daring abroad! Kenya’s Film industry gains Hollywood recognition

Their is no doubt Kenyan film industry is growing day by day and gaining international recognition.

Not so long, Kenyan film producer landed a job with netflix now, Kenyan short film dubbed Shoto has put the country on the map yet again after landing a nomination at the prestigious Hollywood award, Best New Filmmakers Award.

The film which has fast garnered traction was a project by young Kenyan filmmakers who were solely sponsored by a film production hub, Stories Found.

Shoto was produced under a program by the US embassy in Nairobi whose primary goal is to equip young filmmakers with relevant skills in film production.

Shoto’s nomination for the award was announced in California’s town, Los Angeles in a celeb-studded gala.

According to reports from its producers, the film was nominated in the category of Best New Media.

The good news was first shared online by one of the producers of the film, Azeli Ishmael through his Instagram account.
