Many are still trying to come to terms with the gruesome murder of Moi university female medical student Ivy Wangeci.

The sixth year was such a promising student that it’s been rumored her stellar performance could have been a source of envy from her attacker.

The man behind the killing is said to have come from Nairobi, armed with an axe and a knife. He reportedly lured her out of class, hit her on the head with the axe before slitting her throat.

However the crowd managed to nab the suspect and gave him mob justice almost killing him only to be rescued by the police.

It’s been revealed by the doctors he suffered a skull fracture. Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital CEO Wilson Arwasa said this after Naftali Kinuthia underwent a CT scan on Wednesday.

He is recuperating at the hospital under tight security after he was attacked by a mob following the murder of the student.

Dr. Arwasa said the man also sustained soft tissue injuries on his face.

A friend of the murdered Moi University School of Medicine student, Ivy Wangeci, has released a statement saying she was murdered on Tuesday by a stalker who wanted to be her lover.

Rodgers Abidha, on a Twitter thread, said that Wangeci had known the person who killed her, 28-year-old Naftali Kinuthia since she was a child.

β€œHe has been pestering Ivy to be his girlfriend, since childhood, Ivy constantly refused,” Abida said.
