The dead are the departed one’s we cherish in our minds and so to bring peace to ourselves and paying homage to their identity and existence,which is gone but yet present inside our memories and thoughts , we choose to respect the dead.

Some people argue that the respect for the death is promoted by tradition , culture ,society , and customs and religion followed. Life is short and everything is perishable.
Nothing is immortal and energy and matter are interchangeable and turn shapes back and fro. Energy is in constant motion. After an individual dies , his essence fades away and his energy which he borrowed from his surroundings is returned back.
Infact we are born of stardust. When a big star burns up his fuel and dies in powerful supernova, the elements needed to support life are created. Thus birth and death is universal, the time period may vary but everything is born with an expiry date.
They say that the dead should not mourn rather be at peace that they have transcended beyond into spiritual world,where they are not bound by pain and pleasure .
