Is the ruling Jubilee Party really divided? This is the question that a number of Kenyans and especially the Jubilee Party loyalists have been asking after it emerged that political leaders in the Party are divided with one faction loyal to Ruto while the other has remained committed to finishing the journey with President Kenyatta.
DP William Ruto has now come out to sensationally make claims that the Jubilee Party is so intact and in fact warned those behind the now famous ‘Stop Ruto movement’, calling them former ODM original members, sympathisers and Jubilee party rejects.
“ODM has managed to persuade sympathisers but 95 percent of Jubilee is intact,” he said.
“These were people who wanted to rig elections but we believe in fairness and every member will be treated so.”
Ruto also took a dig at former Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe saying that he (Murathe) was nowhere during the formation of Jubilee Party and his departure was as a result of not being able to stomach what the DP said.
The former vice chairman “bit more than he could chew”, Dr Ruto said.
