The Death of the Kakamega Quintuplets mother sent shockwaves across the country with many Kenyans wondering how a woman who looked so healthy and upbeat about life after giving birth could have met he untimely death in the manner that she did.
Many Kenyans including political leaders gave their opinions on the matter with Kakamega Senator Moses Wetangula even calling on the Ministry of Health to provide the public with all the necessary answers pertaining to the woman’s death.
“Everlyne Namukhula, the kakamega quintuplets mother, has died under unclear circumstances. She may not have received proper/adequate post natal medicare after carrying such a heavy responsibility & a CS delivery! MOH owes an explanation !” Said Wetangula.

According to an autopsy carried out on the Kakamega Woman, She died of heart failure. This is according to pathologists at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
Dr Benson Macharia said Everlyn Namukhula suffered from Peripartum cardiomyopathy, which he said was a common complication that arises after delivery.
Macharia, who was accompanied by the hospital Chief Executive Officer Wilson Arusa said the deceased had swollen feet and fluid in heart and lungs. He ruled out trauma as a cause of death.
“The autopsy revealed that she died as result of heart failure while undergoing specialised treatment,” said Macharia as he defended the hospital against claims of professional negligence.
