Good news to Harambee stars who have reportedly received the cash promised by the Deputy President William Ruto for qualifying to play at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The newly deployed Cabinet Secretary for Sport, Amina Mohammed soon after taking office said the Sh50m earlier promised to Harambee Stars by Deputy President William Ruto, was part of the over Sh240 million presented by Football Kenya Federation ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tour.
She revealed her office had already consented FKF’s Sh244,586,705 Stars’ budget ahead of the 2019 continental showpiece. Amina said the slightly over Sh244.5m kitty was inclusive of the Sh50m token.
The CS’s statement was rubber-stamped by Sports and Social Development Fund chairman Lieutenant General (Rtd) Jackson Tuwei.
