President Uhuru Kenyatta’s flagship project of registration of citizens under the Huduma Namba initiative has been likened to the biblical 666 number of the anti-christ by religious leaders and other christians.

On Sunday, Kiambu County Speaker Bishop Stephen Ndicho who is also
a charismatic pastor and chair in the Kenya National Congress of Pentecostal Churches and Ministries, said he would not register for the Huduma Namba as he believed that it was the number of the anti-christ written in the book of Revelations.

We are not saying Huduma Namba is the 666, but the features are the same and the road is the same because they are saying you will not get any services without this number. I will personally not register but it is upon you to consult the holy spirit before making a decision,” Ndicho told congregants at a Kiambu Church.

The Antichrist will be in power, in charge, but it’s his evil partner, this false prophet, who implements his plan. By doing great signs and wonders this 2nd beast will further deceive the masses and gain their allegiance. Then he will make people worship an image of the Antichrist, and if they don’t, then they are to be killed. He will force people to take his mark on their right hand or forehead, and if they don’t, they won’t be able to buy or sell. But please, don’t be afraid, for true Christians will not and cannot worship the Antichrist or take his mark,” he added.

The statements from a senior government official raised questions on the coordination between various levels of government in rolling out of the Sh6 billion registration project for all Kenyan citizens.

Interestingly, President Kenyatta was on Tuesday forced to respond to the 666 number – dismissing it as foolishness of the highest level.

I have a lot of respect for the church but I am surprised when they say the Huduma Namba is 666. Surely, where does registration of Kenyans for better services link up with 666? The level of foolishness in this country is very high,” President Kenyatta stated.
