Atletico Madrid and Ghananian midfielder Thomas Partey is adamant he is not leaving the Spanish outfit in the foreseeable future.
The news will definitely serve as a blow to Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal who have all been linked with a move for the Atletico player in recent weeks.
Speaking to Cadena COPE:
‘I’ve grown up in Atleti and I am sure I will stay here. I don’t know of another place that will understand how I play like they do here.’
The 25-year-old has a £43m release clause in his contract which runs until 2023.
His performances in the Atletico Madrid shirt in the holding midfielder role have seen him linked to major European clubs.
Man city are looking for a long term Fernadinho replacement while Manchester United on the other hand want a player who would relieve the pressure off the shoulders of the aging Nemanja Matic and also fill the void of Ander Herrera who has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
