Chelsea travel to Anfield next Sunday in a must-win tie for both teams.
Whilst the stakes are considerably higher for Liverpool, who are going for their first ever Premier League title, Chelsea are in a tough fight for the two remaining Champions League qualifying places.
With five games remaining in the season, Jurgen Klopp‘s side are two points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
And the visit of The Blues will be an extremely tough game for the title-chasers, given their rivalry in recent years.
Liverpool fans won’t need to be reminded of their match at Anfield in 2014, when their 11-game winning streak was ended by goals from Demba Ba and Willian.
The match was particularly memorable, however, for Steven Gerrard’s infamous slip, which led to Ba’s opener.
That defeat proved critical to Liverpool’s title chances, give they were three points and one game ahead of Manchester City in the league at the time, with just two games left.
And Carragher insisted that, while very few members of that squad remain, they will know what happened last time.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he was asked whether he believed Liverpool had a “score to settle” with The Blues.
“Yes,” was the Liverpudlian’s defiant response.
“It’s another question to be answered.
“We all know what happened the last time Liverpool were going for the title.
“It will be a huge atmosphere.
“It’s another game ticked off.
“There is a huge rivalry between Liverpool and Chelsea over the years.
“Add into the mix what happened last time Liverpool were going for the title.”
