‘I will stand by you no matter what!’ Raila assures Uhuru

While speaking in Awendo,Migori County yesterday during a stop over after launching the construction of a new 50M KMTC and  a sh 526 million World Bank roads project,ODM leader Raila Odinga vowed to continue throwing his weight behind President Uhuru in the war against corruption.

Raila Odinga hailed the head of state on his resolve in fighting corruption and said he stopover stand by him in every effort he makes a graft.

”After fighting each other with President Uhuru Kenyatta, we came together in handshake to ensure development is reached across the country.President  said there is no turning back in the fight against corruption. I support this resolve because corruption is the biggest enemy to development in this country.And as Raila Odinga I will stick by him on his pursuit to eliminate the scourge,”  he said.

During his state of the nation address on Thursday,President Uhuru said Kenyans are tired of hearing about money being looted and said he will not be turning back on his resolve.

” There is no turning back on the war against corruption as it is a just war, a war to prevent misuse of public resources for selfish interests by those we have entrusted to manage them.We are not turning back because we are determined to gift our children a better Kenya than the one we inherited. A prosperous Kenya where respect for the rule of law and integrity are the accepted norms,” he said on Thursday.

Some leaders have claimed the pact between Uhuru and Raila is meant to derail Jubilee succession politics and put a stop to Ruto’s 2022 ambitions,something both the head of state and HE Raila have denied.
