Why ‘Dilemma’ star Nelly assault case has been dismissed by the UK Police

Nelly will NOT face criminal charges for an alleged sexual assault in the UK, and it appears it’s because the accuser’s no longer talking to cops.

According to a BBC report, the ‘Dilemma’ star was alleged to have attacked a fan after his gig at Cliffs Pavilion in the UK on 5 December 2017. Police began an investigation and, after interviewing the rapper in January, has told him he faces no further action.

The allegations against Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr, came to light in a US lawsuit. It was included in a claim from a US woman, Monique Greene, who said she was raped by the rapper. Prosecutors dropped a criminal case against him because she would not testify.

Nelly had denied the allegations and filed a counter-suit. Both suits were settled in September. The Essex Police investigation centered on claims from a fan who said the rapper had invited her to his dressing room after the show and sexually assaulted her. She is reported to have filed a federal lawsuit against him in the US in November.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Nelly will no longer be questioned, and police have told him no further action will be taken. While the investigation is not officially closed, we’re told detectives are not actively investigating. If new information comes to light, Essex Police could review it and go from there … but, as of now, Nelly’s off the hook.

As for the why? The accuser’s attorney, Karen Koehler, tells TMZ … “We told the Essex police we would no longer participate in their shoddy investigation and shifted our focus to the federal lawsuit where we will wait on the judge to decide that outcome.” The accuser filed a lawsuit as Jane Doe back in November.

We broke the story … Nelly’s accuser put Essex Police on blast claiming they dragged their feet on the case while treating her like a suspect instead of a victim. She accused him of masturbating in front of her and forcing his penis in her mouth after one of his concerts in 2017.

Nelly has fired back … saying her BS story’s hurting real sexual assault victims.

This is not the first time that the Grammy award-winning artist has been in trouble with the law, he has been accused of sexual assault severally, he has had issues with taxes and drug offences.
