Maryanne Keitany: From DP Ruto’s ‘chief thief’ to an Internet joke

Marianne Kitany has decided to expose her bedroom affairs on the internet, saying that Meru Senator Mithika Linturi never satisfied her in bed.

Who is Marianne Kitany?

Before joining the political arena, Ms Kitany worked as an ICT manager at Kenya Railways. She left the corporation when Jubilee came into power after the 2013 general election.

Ms Kitany also served as Kenya’s special envoy to Germany.

Afterwards, she secured another lucrative job at DP Ruto’s office. Ms Kitany was the Chief of Staff, becoming the highest ranked civil servant at DP Ruto’s office.

While serving in the DP’s office, Ms Kitany was mentioned in several multimillion scandals. She probably used her position to drain the taxpayers’ money and spent other unaccounted millions in a number of disgraceful procurement processes.

She was first mentioned as an architect behind the scandalous hiring of a private jet to fly DP Ruto to various destinations in West and Central Africa at a cost of Sh100million.

Ms Kitany was also accused of irregularly spending another Sh100 million to renovate Deputy President’s office. She failed to consult on the decision to renovate the office which had been extensively renovated and refurbished by Raila Odinga who occupied the office as the Prime Minister during the grand coalition.

Ms Kitany was further accused of diverting Sh100 million allocated to Legislative and Inter-Governmental Relations Office to fund a confidential vote to oust the then Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru. The motion was moved by her husband Hon Mithika Linturi who was then the member of parliament for Igembe South. Now we know it was a family affair.

Ms Kitany left the DP’s office after she was mentioned in the ‘List of Shame’ tabled in parliament by President Uhuru Kenyatta. She was first suspended to pave way for investigations and later on sacked. From that time, she went underground only to reappear on Wednesday last week during a court case involving her husband senator Mithika Linturi.

For those who thought Ms Kitany was just an ordinary person, then you are wrong. She is a woman who singlehandedly stole millions of taxpayers’ money while working at the DP’s office.
