There was chaos at Kirinyaga University on Wednesday evening as students decried insecurity in the institution and its environs.
This came after one of them was stabbed to death by thugs while walking to the hostels.
The student, who was in the company of two was attacked at around 9pm by three men near Thiba River at Kutus Trading Centre.
The unknown thugs escaped after stabbing the Second Year student and robbing them of their phones.
Confirming the incident, Mwea East OCPD Dorothy Gaitenga said police have launched investigations into the incident.
The victim was pronounced dead at Kutus Health Centre where he was taken by other students.
