Here is why Obado will not be part of Raila’s visit

Migori Governor Okoth Obado, who is a suspect in the murder case of Sharon, will not attend event presided over by his party Leader Raila Odinga.

Raila is expected to be officiating the groundbreaking ceremony of the Awendo Kenya Medical Training College.

Awendo MP Walter Owino has confirmed that Raila Odinga will visit the constituency to also inspect various projects.

However, Obado has said he will not attend the function, citing a court restriction that limits his movement.

“I would have wished to join Raila Odinga and the people of Awendo in the commissioning of the KMTC.

Unfortunately, the orders given by the court in the Sharon Otieno murder case bar me from stepping into Awendo town because of its proximity to Homa Bay County,” the Governor said at a Press briefing on Thursday.

The governor hit headlines last week for defending judge Jackstone Ojwang benefitted from the upgrade of a road leading to his Migori home.
