Ugandan artist sues restaurant for assult

A Ugandan musician has sued a fast food restaurant and three of its employees for assault.

In Angella Katatumba’s suit against Chicken Tonight, the singer says that on April 1 2018, three of the restaurant’s employees physically assaulted her before evicting her from the premises.

Katatumba, who is seeking Sh16 million in damages said that she had gone to buy food when the incident occurred.

According to Katatumba, two of the employees kicked her under the supervision of one Rogers Olubworth Choka, resulting in physiological trauma, bodily injuries and humiliation.

Katatumba further said that a medical examination showed she had sustained grievous bodily harm before being referred to International Hospital, Kampala.

She was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome which requires her to visit the doctor monthly for a period of two years.

The restaurant has been given 15 days to file their defence.
