In a rather extreme ordeal, Nanyuki matatu operators expressed their frustration by conducting the burial of the county’s Woman Representative Cate Waruguru.
The enraged bunch claim that Waruguru is behind the influx of Sienta and Probox public service vehicle (PSV) operators at their drop-off points.
They further accused her of an alleged plot to enable the Sientas to carry on with their businesses months after they were banned from the road.
This caused a transport paralysis for the better part of the day.
Passengers and motorists plying the Nyeri-Nanyuki highway were stranded for hours forcing them to look for alternative routes.
However, the Deputy County Commissioner of Nanyuki town later intervened and normal operations resumed.
