Unpopular Opinion: Prophet Owuor’s Church is the answer to true African Christianity

“We can blame Prophet Owuor for ‘many’ things but one we can’t: the man has brought the discipline of religion into the attire of his church. The Owuor Church is a national treasure. The Owuor Church is the answer to what a true African Christianity should look like. ” One Kenyan writer expressed his opinion on twitter and some Kenyans could not seem to agree with his remarks.

The question of religion is entirely debatable but for the believers I guess discipline alone is not enough to qualify and count as what should represent the entire continent and Christianity; perhaps there is more.

The controversial man of God has not just once sparked debate over his acts and how his followers treat him with high regard to an extent that it is questionable.

His followers wash the roads when their ‘Mighty Prophet’ is set to hold a prayer meeting. They also wear long robes as a part of their way of religion which clearly bothers some Kenyans. But it does not bother them more than the signs and wonders that Prophet Owour is said to perform.

From healing to resurrection, the man of God continues to earn a huge following including getting endorsements from top most political leaders.

Speaking on the unpopular opinion, with all these controversies and questions that many Kenyans have raised, with the recent concern being the brain washing allegations Disembe believes that Owour’s church is a national treasure.

He further says that it is the answer to what true African Christianity should look like. Do Kenyans agree? Have a look at their reactions
