Stop politicising DP Ruto’s philanthropic activities, wiper leader tells of Raila Odinga

Borabu Member of Parliament Ben Momanyi has warned AU Envoy Raila Odinga over his critics towards DP Ruto’s donation to the church.

MP Momanyi urged that DP Ruto’s philanthropic activities should be appreciated instead of being castigated by leaders across the country.

“I think Rt Hon Raila Odinga should not castigate DP William Ruto all the time. He should appreciate him even once in a while. Accusing someone of theft just because of fundraisers is not good,” he said

In addition he said, “If you’re in a position to help a church, just do it. It’s not important to always attack him. It’s time we embrace peace and stop political witch-hunt.”

Dr Ruto made his grand Gusii region visit where he donated Sh10 towards the construction of South Kenya Conference offices at Nyanchwa in Kisii County.

The move has attracted criticism from areas residents with a section of Kisiis living in the US accusing the SDA Church of condoning theft.

This comes afew weeks after Raila Odinga claimed that the catholic Pope Francis had rejected DP Ruto’s car gift as it had been acquired through corruption money a statement that uproared debate among leaders both from DP Ruto’s side and Raila Odinga.

However, Cardinal Njue came out to clear the matter saying that the pope had not mentioned anything that the former Prime Minister had uttered.
