According to reports in Fox Sports, Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to go head to head for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic and if the reports are to be believed, the Catalan giants are set to be handed a major blow with their El Clasico rival set to go through the back door to clinch the deal for the Serbian striker. The Serbian striker has set the Bundesliga on fire this season even with the likes of Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski in the league by scoring 16 goals and assisting another five which makes a total number of 21 goals contribution.
The 21-year-old’s performances have understandably forced the European giants to take notice and quite a few of them are interested in completing his signature. There were reports doing the rounds that Barcelona are targetting the Bosnia and Herzegovina born striker as a perfect replacement for Uruguyan striker Luis Suarez. However, according to reports in Spanish media outlet Marca, that the striker as been offered to Real Madrid by his agent after the club met with his agent.
Los Blancos haven’t been able to replace the goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo and are set for a major overhaul in the summer. And with Barcelona and Manchester City in for Jovic as well, we could be in for an enthraling summer transfer saga in a couple of months’ time. The transfer decision will bore down to Jovic’s preference as it is seen.
Another player who could join Real Madrid instead of Barcelona is France midfielder Adrien Rabiot. As it has been in the last few years, the future of Adrien Rabiot’s future remains a hot topic. The PSG midfielder has turned down several contract offers from his current side, which is why he’ll be out of contract this summer. Therefore, given his qualities, he’s become a hot subject on the transfer market, which will start once again in June.
