Manchester United and Tottenham have joined Leicester in the race to land Youri Tielemans in the summer.
Tielemans joined Leicester on loan from Monaco in January and has impressed in the Premier League so far this season.
According to Belgian outlet HLN, Tottenham and Manchester United are both keen on a deal to sign him in the next transfer window.
Tielemans is valued at £40m by Monaco, as they look to make a profit on the Belgian international following his good form for Leicester.
The report claims that Leicester are willing to pay the fee, thus breaking their club-record transfer fee – €30m for Islam Slimani in 2016.
However, Leicester will have to ward off interest from Tottenham and Manchester United if they want to secure a deal on a permanent basis for Tielemans.
Since joining Leicester, Tielemans has scored once and assisted three in seven Premier League appearances for the Foxes.
ALTERNATIVE MIDFIELD TARGETS FOR LEICESTER
- Oliver Norwood
The Sheffield United man has been excellent in the Championship this season and, if they fail to go up, would be a great addition to Leicester’s squad.
2. Tom Cairney
With Fulham all but confirmed as down, Cairney could be a solid signing for Leicester’s midfield.
3. Aaron Mooy
Huddersfield’s relegation has already been confirmed and Aaron Mooy is certainly one who may attract Premier League interest in the summer.
4. Jake Livermore
If West Brom fail to earn promotion back to the Premier League, Livermore could be a shrewd addition to Brendan Rodgers’ team.
