Samburu governor Moses Kasaine has become DP William Ruto’s latest close friend to be arraigned in court in the fight against corruption.
Kasaine was arrested in relation to the loss of more than sh 84 million which he paid himself to supply fuel to the county government.
According to the DPP, Kasaine will be charged with three charges; conspiracy to commit a crim, conflict of interest and abuse of office.
But ones again, Kenyans have questioned the selectiveness in the war against corruption.
Things got so heated up on Tuesday, with some people accusing EACC of playing handshake politics in the fight against corruption.
Homabay and Siaya governors have seen zero development despite billions being given to the governors since the onset of devolution. Who is protecting these governors? And who set up Samburu governor?
It is also not clear why EACC chose to charge the governor on a smaller amount of sh. 84 million and not the billions he has stolen.
The truth of the matter is that this charges are not water tight, the Samburu governor will walk away and go and steal more funds.
Because EACC does not intend on sending anyone to Kamiti, or recovering stolen funds but fighting William Ruto under the disguise of the handshake.
