Fraudulent Murang’a MCA arrested for conning woman 3 million

A Murang’a Member of County Assembly (MCA) has been arrested in connection to a fraudulent tender deal that conned a woman of Sh3 million.

The Kagunduini Ward MCA Peter Mburu Muthoni allegedly pretended that he could offer the woman a tender to supply ballast to a Chinese company.

He was however caught by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), who said:

“The suspect together with others he had introduced as an ‘Engineer’& a ‘senior staff’ at the Chinese company forged an agreement for the supply of ballast and in the process they defrauded the victim the said amount.”

The DCI further stated that they are in pursuit of the other two suspects.

Mr. Mburu is set to be arraigned on Tuesday and will face charges of – among other things — making a document without authority.
