James Orengo spend six million to buy new suits during his first month as the Minister of land in the coalition government.
This is according to firebrand Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi. The MP also claims that Orengo used another 400k on new shirts.
“Orengo anaongea kuhusu corruption. Na mimi nataka kuambia Wakenya, wakati Orengo alipewa kazi ya Ministry of Lands, alinua suti sita ya milioni moja moja na shati ya elfu mia nne.” Sudi said in a video that has gone viral.

The MP says that Orengo has no moral authority to speak against corruption because he has his own history.
Last week, the Siaya Senator said that he will initiate a motion to impeach Deputy President William Ruto because the country cannot move forward with a DP that is mentioned in every corruption scandal.
In 2014, Orengo was quizzed over his involvement in the 500,000 acre Lamu land scandal. During his tenure as Minister, individuals and companies received title deeds for the alleged land.
Most of the land was in an area where the multi-billion Lamu port is being built and those who acquired the land hoped to sale it back to the government at a profit.

In 2015, EACC revealed that Orengo had illegally allocated and participated in the irregular disposal of public land in 2008. The land in question was along Ring Road in Westlands.
The Senator earned more than sh 5 million in kickbacks after the land was sold for sh 320 million.
The senior counsel was also accused of illegally allocating himself a land parcel Number LR861.
Orengo is also on the spot for defending Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga despite the massive corruption in the county.
Seems Orengo is not clean after all!
