Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has commended the Kenya Scouts Association (KSA) for its unrelenting efforts in impacting lives of the youth.

The Governor says that the scouts Association is playing a key role in developing young boys and girls and nurturing them into becoming responsible and active adults, who positively contribute towards societal progress.

With the zeal to serve others before self, the Kilifi County Scouts have proactively engaged themselves in addressing issues of environmental conservation, tree planting, water conservation and have made a significant impact in these areas.

Kingi also assured that the County Government of Kilifi will continue working closely with the Kenya Scouts Association to ensure that they empower and impact young people with skills and principles that are geared towards making them responsible and accountable members of the society.

The Kilifi Governor was yesterday instilled as the Kilifi County Scouts’ Patron.

Last year, the head of state also commended the good job done by the Scouts Association  and also gave great suggestions which will certainly help transform the organization.

Recognizing the scout movement’s potential to support government efforts to instill discipline among the country’s youth, President Kenyatta directed that the Teachers Service Commission  to deploy two teachers to each county to coordinate scouting programmes in schools.

He urged schools to make use of the scouting movement as a partner and use its influence to instill the culture of discipline in Kenyan schools.

President Kenyatta also assured that the Government will double its financial allocation to the Kenya Scouts Association, commending the association for its prudent use of public funds.
