“Don’t try me, I’m bad news!” MP puts his home burglars on notice

A member of Parliament whose home was raided and burgled has come out to dare political opponents whom he said were out to terminate him.

Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga, an Independent candidate in the 2017 elections who sailed through, noted that he was unmoved.

The gangsters gained entry into the homestead by cutting part of the fence. They stole a 32-inch television set. The MP and his family were away.

The thieves also poisoned one of the family dogs.

Bumula Deputy County commissioner John Tanui said two people had been arrested in connection with the incident.

One of Mwambu’s guards has recorded a statement with police.

Tanui asked politicians to refrain from making utterances that could trigger violence.

“I want to send a stern warning to youths who might be breaking into leaders’ houses that their days are numbered,” he said.

Mwambu claimed the gangsters could have been sent to kill him. But the former prison warden said no one would frighten him from serving the Bumula electorate.

“I am telling those who want to mess up with me that they have the wrong guy,” he said.
